Brief. 
The start of 2017-2018 will mark the 50th anniversary of Consett & District Sunday league’s existence and in light of that they are celebrating in many ways and one of them being rebranding the face of the league.


The brief is to create a new logo design, in the form of a crest that represents football in and around the Consett area. The logo has no specific shape or colour, however must be suitable for usage on a medal, letterheads, handbooks, websites and clothing.

Planning the project.

  • Briefing for the project and start initial research

  • Continue research and start mind mapping ideas for the brief.

7th March 2017.

  • Start developing ideas for the logo concepts making sure that it hits the brief correctly and suits                 the purpose.

15th March 2017.

  • Finalise the logo design and start working on  extension tasks. 

​

16th March 2017.

  • Focus on extension tasks and making sure that all progress is recorded within WRL sketchbook            with annotations.

​

24th March 2017.

  • Finalise all branding and logo design and submit        for approval.

In and around Consett.
Northwest of County Durham, Consett is home to Rowan Atkinson, the famous actor known for his roles in Mr. Bean and Johnny English. Consett sits on the edge of the Pennines the town is known for the industrial development of lead mining along with the steel industry.

The Parish Church of Consett.
During the time of the development of the steel and mining, the building of the Parish Church of Consett. Mr Jon Cory was hired to design a new church for the town, and was built in 1864 and has become a famous landmark of associated with Consett ever since.

​

Derwent Reservoir.
On the border between County Durham and Northumberland lies one of the biggest inland waters that reaches up to 3.5 miles or 5.6km long. This reservoir is key to the water supply network in the North East of England, this happens to be managed by Northumbrian Water. The reservoir was first designed in 1957 and finally opened in July 1967 and has been a crucial basin ever since.
