Short Deadline?

Although this project is short and in depth with content. The project has a one week deadline meaning that the all progress must be rapid and must stick within the week or resulting in negative feedback or the project going to another designer. Keeping in touch with the client at all times whenever development is made, will be crucial to successfully hitting the brief and producing the best outcome for the client.

Initial concepts and development.

The brief of this project was to create a professional and personal mark for “Douglas Johnstone” meaning the usage of the initials “DJ” had to be incorporated into the logo in some form. As a designer, I rarely use negative space within my designs and saw this as a perfect opportunity to develop my skills in using the style and create a creative logo that will become the main part of Douglas’s brand.

Doing this meant that one letter of the initials of the client needed to be more dominant compared to the other, having the letter “D” be more important was crucial with it being the first initial in his name. The letter “J” would be used within the negative space.

Initial response from client.

“Personally, I love the concept of using the “J” inside of the “D”. It’s both clear and professional. Please can we develop this further?
