PERSONAL BRANDING

Brief.
To create new a new branding that represents the me and my work in a effective manner that is more personal than what they currently have. Although it should feel new it should stay true to the old aspects of the branding such as the colour scheme, this project will include a logo design and full
branding guidelines.

Creative Solution.
To create iconic branding that helps me establish myself in the area of Graphic Design, but also keeps aspects of my previous branding to keep it feeling more personal than the current one that is in place, using initials or key dates for colour can be effective. The overall feel should be clean and simple yet is bold and recognisable to new clients for many years
to come.

New Concept.
The concept was to redevelop my personal brand that essentially would be more effective and professional than ever before. The main issue I have with my old logo was the confusion of what it meant or was just complicated for anyone to understand and that’s why in the end my heart warmed towards this logo.

The main idea was to combine my initials, but removing the middle factor being the letter “D”. To keep things simple, I decided to stick down to the basics of the two letters. There are many ways the logo can be viewed, firstly you can see the letter J, which is more clear due to the leg of the letter being at a 13% angle, which is also 25% extra height compared to the H.

Secondly the letter H plays an important role to the overall look of the logo, with the J and the second half of a letter H, combined they resemble the letter H, this makes the logo feel a lot more personal.

Reflection.
Overall I am happy with the outcome of this and brief , especially my visual response. My previous logo was something that I was not content with for a long time, but never had the confidence or devoted the time to really working on perfecting my brand. The logo sets out to do exactly what I intended, which was to make a professional, clean, and simple mark that would reflect the use of my first and last name.

I conclude to the point of having a greater understanding on creating personal branding but also developed my skills in producing logos, branding guidelines and managing a project outside of class. Although I still have a lot of room to develop especially when creating branding guidelines, studying examples found online or buying books such as "Designing Brand Identity" by Alina Wheeler (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Designing-Brand-Identity-Essential-Branding/dp/1118099206/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1493112019&sr=8-1&keywords=designing+brand+identity) will allow me to gain a perspective from another individual who has worked in the industry of design.
