STREAMER MARKET BRIEFING

Jacob Ham

DATE

23rd February 2017

DEADLINE

27th March 2017.

Brief.
To create branding for a upcoming business known as Streamer Market, which represents both their audience and their service which is aimed purely at gamers.

Creative Solution.
To create an iconic branding that helps Streamer Market achieve their mission which is to give everyone the ability to create their dream livestream, no matter their budget, and to become the number one pre-made graphic design store and studio for content creators.

Why the redevelopment?
Since the initial development of the Streamer Market branding back in June 2016 and when it was launched on August 1st, the website has reached over 520,000 visits. Although the branding fits the original purpose, it was time to think of the bigger picture. That picture being working with industrial based clients that will open up bigger opportunities for the brand.

What is to redevelop?
Even though the logo design will stay the same and the purpose of the company will do to. The branding will be changed completely and in return look much more professional and appealing to custom clients alongside the premade market.

Things needed for re/development;

  • Branding Guidelines.

  • Brand Sheet.

  • Business Cards.

  • Colour Scheme.

  • Compliment Slip.

  • Letter Heads.

  • Logo (Colour).

  • Social Media.

  • Typography.

  • Wallpaper.

SWOT Analysis.
A SWOT Analysis helps me to outline the main strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that I will potentially face throughout this brief.

  • Strengths - A set of tasks or situations that I can manage and succeed in, most often will benefit me in  a project.

  • Weaknesses - The opposite to “Strengths”, weaknesses are usually personality traits or skills you have yet to learnt that might hinder progress within that project.

  • Opportunities - A list of situations that are positive towards myself or the project. These can appear at the start, during or after the project is finished and finalised.

  • Threats - Things that can cause danger to the project and alter the outcome or even producing a finished product to give to the client.

SWOT.

Strengths.

  • Worked on the previous branding, developed for the company back in June

  • Gained a stronger knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite and designing logos and developing guidelines for brands since working on the original branding.

Weaknesses.

  • N/A

Opportunities.

  • Working with previous clients, who was happy with the outcome of the first version of branding.

  • To redevelop work I produced at earlier time in          my career.

  • To help further establish the brand and develop a bigger presence by creating a more professional look.

  • To redevelop a part of my portfolio.

Threats.

  • Client disliking the work and scraping                           the redevelopment.

  • Producing work that decreases in quality.

  • Making the wrong choices for the brand.

Strengths.
Throughout this project there will be attributes that will help me accomplish the end goal, the first being that I developed the original branding in 2016 and have gained a bigger knowledge of both working with brand guidelines and clients.

Since then I have worked with a wide range of clients and working in a studio environment has helped me to gain a further knowledge on how to improve on my work, this is something that will become useful for improving the previous branding in place currently.

Weaknesses.
Unable to figure out any weaknesses as I am comfortable taking on every aspect of the brief and complete them  with ease.

Opportunities.
During or after this project there will be a set of opportunities that I am presented with that will benefit me and the client. The first one being that I get to work with a client who was happy with the original branding and has recommended my services to other clients.

The project presents me with a personal development task, which is to excel on work I had previously developed earlier in my career as a designer, this gives me the chance to see how much I have progressed both as a person and a designer working freelance. Furthermore it gives me a chance to redevelop a part of my portfolio.

Threats.
The main threat that I will be faced with throughout this and any project i undertake will be the client disliking the work, i design and either going elsewhere for the work or using work that they are unhappy with. This leads to me making wrong choices for the brand which could mean the brand shutting down in future.
